Atom AT-956 Aneroid BP Monitor + Stethoscope Atom Model 948

Description

• Ensure that the BP monitor is in good working condition. Check the cuff, tubing, and pressure gauge for any damage or defects.
• Place the monitor on a flat surface at eye level, where you can easily read the pressure gauge.
• Have the patient sit in a comfortable and relaxed position with their arm exposed.
• Explain the procedure to the patient to help them remain calm.
• Ensure the Atom Model 948 Stethoscope is clean and in good working order.
• Choose the appropriate chest piece (usually the diaphragm) for auscultation. Ensure it is securely attached to the tubing.
• Wrap the BP cuff around the patient’s upper arm. The cuff should be snug but not too tight. Make sure the lower edge of the cuff is about an inch above the bend of the elbow.
• Secure the cuff in place.
• Locate the brachial artery (usually on the inside of the arm) and palpate it to find the pulse. This helps you determine where to place the stethoscope.
